Walton Street

A sophisticated refurbishment of a 4 storey home in South Kensington which required a contemporary take on a traditional style balustrade.

Although housed in a 200 year old building, this interior design followed a modern theme. The staircase was clad in highly polished veined Italian marble and illuminated by a suspended decorative chandelier descending the full height of the lightwell. These influences suggested a subtle but modern balustrade which was still in keeping with the buildings heritage.

In order to retain a light and understated design, the balustrade was nickel plated to give a subtle reflective surface, in keeping with the surrounding materials.

Designed and project managed during my time with Elite Metalcraft.
